I am leaving

I am finding it hard to manage my facebook fan page, school, and two blogs. So I will be exporting the material here and importing it into my blog at http://lifeundiscovered.wordpress.com/. This way It is less for me to manage. I would love for all my followers to follow me over to there so that I might be able to maintain a relationship with all my loyal readers!

hopefully this might inspire me to continue blogging on a regular basis. Hope to see you there!
And If you haven’t yet, find me on facebook at www.facebook.com/knotaknitter.

A Very Productive Day Indeed!

I was asked a couple days ago if I could babysit for a neighbour. Since I wasn’t doing anything on that particular day I agreed. I haven’t been along very well with most of my neighbours and so I wanted to take this opportunity to get to know some of them a little bit better.

It wasn’t until last night that I had decided to ask just how long I would be babysitting for. Then I kicked myself. Apparently I had committed myself to babysitting a two year old toddler for ELEVEN hours! Oh. Yay.

So what have I done in between playing red light/green light and going to the park and cooking dinner and cleaning up messes? Well played with my hook and yarn that’s what!! 20130824_131311I have made this pink clutch. I was about to run out of pink so I included a nice brown strip and small bow to complement the purse. I am indeed in love with it, and would like to make more! Maybe I can add a strip of off white and it can be a Neapolitan clutch!

Then I made a headband just to see how quickly they work up, and I have to say I am impressed. I can’t wait to make more. čÖé

and finally, a coffee cozy! No more double cupping my Tim Horton’s coffee in the morning and wasting more paper cups. I will just carry this with me everywhere I go!

I still have four more hours to go with this babysitting job, and the young man goes to bed in about an hour. At that time I will send my two home to Husband to continue dealing with and I will have a nice relaxing evening with my hook to keep my company!

A New Home

I sent off the elephant lovey on Wednesday afternoon and was told that it would take 3 business days to arrive.

I am happy to report that a day later, it has arrived to her new home! 20130820_215655

I gave her some bright green eyes that pop against the pink of the elephant and a pretty purple bow in her… ear.

To personalize the lovey, I added a complementing colour of a very simple flower to the side

A close up of the flower I used.

As a thank you gift for being my first order, I also included a yoda hat for her daughter as she had expressed an interest in one a few months ago.

My Crochet Buddy

Meet Boo. Out of the three cats I currently live with, she is my favourite. This is why

Two years ago, I spontaneously hopped into my car to drive to a city 5 hours away. If you know me, you know that spontaneity is NOT my forte. It scares me. I like to have to have my days planned out, to the minute. It was very out of character for me.

Then, half way there, I decided to take a two hour detour and stop off in a city that was not on the direct route to see my best friend (who would then go on to become my husband, but that is another story).

So, here I am, in a city that I shouldn`t have been in, doing something that I normally don`t do, when all of a sudden the worst happens. I get distracted for an instant and I end up rear ending a truck… with a hitch…. as I drive an itty bitty car. Yup.That is radiator fluid leaking.

My car is undriveable. I have a four year and a six year old in the middle of summer in a city that I don’t know. Wonderful.

Long story short, a friend managed to drive up and tow me home, but I did have to wait for her to make the 4 hour trek. So what was I to do?

The kids and I begin walking towards the mall. As we pass by a bush we hear the faintest *mew*. It took about 3 hours to coax this feisty kitten out of the bush but when we did we were greeted with a few scratches and loud hiss.

I brought her home with us and it became apparent that this cat had a wild streak. She was not cuddly, she hated to be pet, she attacked anything that moved, especially toes. She was almost a horror to live with, but I couldn`t turn my back on her.

When my husband moved in with me, Boo would attack him in his sleep. She slept in my dresser, away from people, and she would attack anyone who tried to pet her.

My Boo

My Boo

Now, two years later, and a lot of training, this is My Boo. *Sitting on my lap*, as I crochet. She would even paw my hand if I stopped petting her for even a second. My daughter, who is now six has even been stopped by Boo as she walks down the stairs. Boo will reach out and paw at her asking to be pet. She has become not only just another cat we live with, but a definite part of our family. I do not think that my life would be as fulfilling as it currently is if I did not have my Boo.┬á She is still very┬á much a queen, and will only be pet, or cuddle on her terms and when she wants to cuddle, watch out. She will manage to get what she wants. čśÇ

My Very First Order

I made the decision to start selling my crochet, and on the night that I should have been doing my homework assignment, I made a facebook page and shared it with my friends list.

If I am going to be honest, I thought that it would take awhile for this┬á “home business” to take off. I make a point of monitoring my facebook friends list, for various reasons, and so I only have approximately 60 friends. Surprisingly though, that very first night one of my friends requested that I make an elephant┬áversion of this lovey for her baby girl.

The colours she chose are pink and purple, and l knew just the shades of these two colours┬áto use for this project. I was so excited that I got started on it immediately.┬áIf I am lucky, I should be able to complete it tonight! Stay tuned!! čÖé

A Very Happy Monday

I crocheted on and off for many years. I learnt as a child and picked it up again as a means of therapy during a difficult time in my life. I will go through spurts where I crochet a lot; and then not so much. But my love for the craft never wavers! And now, as I progress in my ability, I am beginning to enjoy it even more! I never knew how creative one can be when it comes to crochet, but I love browsing the patterns, and projects and adding countless WIMs to my brain! I look forward to meeting new people through the web, and I can’t wait to share my projects with everyone čÖé So come, join me, hit the follow button and if you really like what you read, don’t be shy with the share buttons either! čÖé
And don’t forget to leave a comment! I would love to hear from you.
